Why have multiple domains
More and more companies are using multiple domains and sub domains for their websites to allow them to spread the content of their website into more manageable chucks. Companies who offer many different services that would appeal to a different audience find it beneficial to separate the content and host it under a different domain name, such as www.ahotel.co.uk would add www.cookerycourses.ahotel.co.uk.

Controlling multiple websites
We have created several multiple websites that utilise a single content management system (CMS). One domain (URL) hosts our CMS from which you are able to control all the content of multiple domains. There is also the added benefit of the live update facility, all you need to do is browse one of your multiple websites and click the edit button next to the content area you wish to amend. You can then change the content on the page (live).
Multiple websites using subdomains
Another way to create multiple domains is to use subdomains, there is no additional costs involved in creating a sub domain. You must first have a main domain name (parent), we are then able to create multiple domains from the parent domain (http://www.anything.yourdomain.com). Sub domains have separate hosting accounts.
